Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>Edgar (THOMAS LENNON) is recently divorced and returns to his childhood home where he finds a nefarious looking puppet in his deceased brother\u2019s room. He decides to sell the doll for some quick cash at a small-town convention celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders. All hell breaks loose when a strange force animates the puppets at the convention, setting them on a bloody killing spree that\u2019s motivated by an evil as old as time.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>Never really got into the Puppet Master<\/em> franchise which began in 1989 and spawned 10 sequels, the last was 2017. So going into Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich<\/em><\/strong> is my first foray into the franchise, though it is a reboot of the series. Although I\u2019m not quite a horror nut only really loving the classics like Halloween<\/em>, Child\u2019s Play<\/em> and Friday the 13th<\/em>, and comparatively, I did enjoy this entry, mainly for its cheesiness, in addition it\u2019s always nice seeing Thomas Lennon get a lead role.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This release comes with an embossed slip cover<\/strong>. All the features are on both the 4K UHD and Blu-ray and are in 1080p high-definition.<\/p>\n

First up is Behind the Scenes of Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich<\/em> (5:56)<\/u><\/strong> which contains a background on the project with some on-set footage; The Cast of Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich<\/em> (6:55)<\/u><\/strong> introduces us to the actors in the film and their characters; Puppets: From Concept to Creation (1:44)<\/u><\/strong> looks at artwork, pre-vis and final look at the puppets, Lightning Girl Comics: From Sketch to Final (0:40)<\/u><\/strong> is a look at the artwork for this fake comic book; and lastly there\u2019s a Photo Gallery<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

RLJ Entertainment releases Puppet Master: Littlest Reich<\/em><\/strong> on 4K UHD presented with a 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 2160p high-definition transfer, along with the Blu-ray\u2019s 1080p transfer as well. It may not be the best looking title to come on the 4K format but still has fine detail and colors are decent, however there is no HDR present so compared with the Blu-ray, the upgrade is ever (EVER) so modest.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Both the 4K and Blu-ray discs come with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which does have crisp and clear dialogue levels with some minor depth for the various horror-related scenes as the puppets attack their prey or the music score by Richard Band (Troll<\/em>, Ghoulies <\/em>amongst many other B-movie horror flicks) and Fabio Frizzi.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Puppet Master: Littlest Reich<\/em><\/strong> is a reboot to the long-running franchise and while it\u2019s not a great film, still had some fun entertainment value and as a fan of Thomas Lennon, was nice to see the actor in a lead role. As for the 4K UHD release, the video\/audio transfers were good but not great, and there was a solid amount of bonus material.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
