meet Fred’s uncle, world-famous chef Bobby Flay. Mystery Inc. quickly learns that this state-of-the-art cooking resort isn’t all steak and potatoes after they find out the legend of the Red Ghost and the unsolved disappearances of Bobby Flay’s great ancestor chef. When the mysterious Red Ghost returns in disastrous fashion to haunt the inn, the gang teams up with Bobby and his culinary pal Giada De Laurentiis to dig in for clues and serve up justice. Will history repeat itself and find another world-famous chef missing?

Quick Hit Review: To make a food pun, these direct-to-video Scooby-Doo movies are like comfort food, nothing particularly special and yet still satisfying in spite of its familiarity. Scooby-Doo and the Gourmet Ghost is basically the same as these other animated movies and like Wrestle Mania Mystery or Scooby-Doo and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery, this is more of a stunt kind of movie as the film brings aboard some famous chefs. As for the plot itself? It’s been done before with a ghost wrecking havoc so that the owner of some property is forced to sell. And although the ultimate culprit is rarely a surprise, this one was easily discernible early on.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5

This release comes with a matted slip cover and the only “features” are 3 Bonus Cartoons.

VIDEO – 4.0/5, AUDIO – 3.75/5

The movie is presented with a 16×9 enhanced 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio showing off fairly bright colors for standard definition and includes a standard but effective Dolby Digital 5.1 track.

OVERALL – 2.75/5

Overall, Scooby-Doo and the Gourmet Ghost is a fun enough direct-to-video adventure from Mystery Inc. and even though the plot and culprit is as predictable as ever, still makes for a good way to spend an hour plus.
