D.C. (JOHNNY KNOXVILLE) is the crackpot owner of Action Point, a low-rent, out-of-control amusement park where the rides are designed with minimum safety for maximum fun. Just as his estranged daughter Boogie comes to visit, a corporate mega-park opens nearby and jeopardizes the future of Action Point. This release comes with a semi-glossy slip cover<\/strong>. Inside is a redemption code for the Digital HD<\/strong> copy and a standard DVD Copy<\/strong>. Considering the lackluster box office, there is a fair amount of features.<\/p>\n

Benny and the Shitbirds (7:22; HD)<\/u><\/strong> looks at the ensemble cast surrounding Knoxville.<\/p>\n

Anarchy at the Amusement Park (4:12; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is on the origins of the story and building the set.<\/p>\n

Old School, Bone-Crunching Stunts (5:04; HD)<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 Given Knoxville\u2019s bread and butter is dangerous stunts, not too surprising there are some more realistic stunt work in this movie as well.<\/p>\n

Drinking Beer with Grizzly Bears (4:37; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a featurette on the various animals featured.<\/p>\n

Deleted\/Extended Scenes (12:13; HD)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 Nine scenes failed to make the final cut or were trimmed.<\/p>\n

Gag Reel (2:00; HD)<\/u><\/strong> filled with the usual on-set schanagans.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Paramount releases Action Point<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray where it is presented with a 2.40 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. This is a bright looking and nicely sharp picture which is usually a given for a light-hearted, even stupid, comedy. It is clean, free of any obvious signs of artifacts or aliasing.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes with a 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track which is a bit much for the type of movie that this is. The bulk of the movie is either dialogue coming via the center channel or the generic comedic music making usage of the front and rear channels. Nothing extraordinary about this lossless track and would\u2019ve been perfectly fine with the usually standard 5.1 channels.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Action Point<\/em><\/strong> is hardly terrible but one wonders why it even received a theatrical release, for one thing it\u2019s not all that funny of a comedy and second, Johnny Knoxville isn\u2019t much of a draw nowadays, especially in the lead. I personally prefer his Jackass<\/em> movies over anything that resembles a plot.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
