A consummate playboy who\u2019s perfected the art of casual romance, Will adores women, but has never thought seriously about marriage or commitment until he meets Charlotte Fielding (WINONA RYDER). Charming, vivacious and radiantly beautiful, Charlotte is unlike anyone Will\u2019s ever known before, and as their relationship blossoms from a heated one-night stand into something rare and wonderful, they both realize that this love will last a lifetime. But, for Charlotte, a lifetime may be much shorter than either of them prepared to accept.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/57s0dMx.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"Autumn in New York\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/57s0dMx.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review: <em>Autumn in New York<\/em><\/strong> is a sappy romantic-drama with some rather weak writing, from Allison Burnett who would go on to write a variety of films spanning different genres, from the thrillers <em>Untraceable<\/em> and <em>Gone<\/em> to fantasy horror flick <em>Underworld Awakening<\/em>, and of course, the sentimental drama.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This is your paint-by-numbers drama where the girl has a terminal illness (in this case, a tumor growing near the heart) and the boyfriend learns a powerful lesson about life and love. This is predictable which in of itself isn\u2019t fine, but the problem is despite two earnest performances by Richard Gere and Winona Ryder, the chemistry between the pair didn\u2019t work and the vast difference in age did make it feel a bit off at times.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/EHaGhJ0.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"Autumn in New York\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/EHaGhJ0.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the end, while this is a half-hearted romance-drama, I can\u2019t say it\u2019s horrible or one of the worst in that genre, but certainly expected better from two actors who generally can be charismatic, unfortunately this is a case where casting was a pretty big fail.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>SPECIAL FEATURES \u2013 0.5\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This release comes with a matted <strong>slip cover<\/strong>. The picture looks okay for the most part, though this is not a movie that will shine on the small screen, in fact it is rather dark. Still, detail was decent and there was still the natural film grain and noise. On the downside, there were numerous instances of dust marks and scratches so clearly, but not surprisingly, this did not undergo any restoration, nor should a movie like this get one.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>AUDIO \u2013 4.0\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The movie includes a PCM 2.0 track which does offer good, crisp and clear dialogue levels and considering there\u2019s really not much outside of that, and the music\/score, you can\u2019t really ask for much more.
