But before the competition begins, a deadly team of terrorists, lead by Omodo (ANDREW DIVOFF), mounts a precision attack on the swimming complex, holding the Womens\u2019 swimming team hostage and unknowingly traps a janitor, and former athlete Jack Bryant (LINDEN ASHBY), within the sprawling compound. Totally unprepared for an assault of this magnitude, a desperate President and the F.B.I. enlist the brilliant Interpol counter-terrorism expert \u201cLeo\u201d (RUTGER HAUER), who coordinates his efforts with the trapped janitor to contain this volatile situation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review:<\/strong> This 1997 action-thriller is your typical schlock for the era with some rather bad acting, none the more than its star Linden Ashby, some awful writing and dialogue and just an all around slapped together plot. Even someone like Rutger Hauer is relegated to only a couple locations, mostly inside a van and in a wheelchair, put there by the film\u2019s villain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the very least I had hoped <strong><em>Blast<\/em><\/strong>, directed by Albert Pyun (<em>Captain America<\/em> 1990, <em>Kickboxer 2 &amp; 4<\/em>), was a so bad it\u2019s good kind of flick and while there are some great minor moments, including the ending, not nearly enough to make even worth your time.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>SPECIAL FEATURES \u2013 0.5\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This release comes with a matted <strong>slip cover<\/strong>.
