SEASON ONE |\u00a0<\/strong>Take six twentysomething Chicago friends \u2014 Brad (DAMON WAYANS JR.) and Jane Williams (ELIZA COUPE), Alex (ELISHA CUTHBERT), Dave (ZACHARY KNIGHTON), Max (ADAM PALLY) and Penny (CASEY WILSON) \u2014 add cocktails and hormones, shake, and you\u2019ve got Happy Endings<\/em>, a comedy that asks: when a couple splits, who gets to keep the friends?<\/p>\n

SEASON TWO |\u00a0<\/strong>Alex and Dave become real friends again (with benefits?). Jane tests out her maternal instincts while hubby Brad unwittingly gets a \u201cwork wife.\u201d Max actually lands the perfect boyfriend that the gang falls in love with. Meanwhile, \u201cThe Year of Penny\u201d is off to a rocky start as Penny struggles with everything from birthday curses to \u201880s-themed scavenger hunts.<\/p>\n

SEASON THREE |\u00a0<\/strong>Dave and Alex try to rekindle their old romance; Brad and Jane go through the trials of marriage; Penny manages a new relationship, a body cast and a prescriptive helmet; and Max deals with bar mitzvah Djing, unusual handshakes and figuring out which gay subculture he belongs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>I was unfamiliar with Happy Endings<\/em><\/strong>, a comedy series produced by Anthony and Joe Russo (who would go on to direct no less than four MCU movies), which aired in the States on ABC for only three seasons, but what glorious three seasons they were based on what I just watched. The best way I could describe Happy Endings<\/em><\/strong> is it\u2019s a cross between the structure of Friends<\/em> with stories like those on Seinfeld<\/em>, with outlandish situations along with some actual, and somewhat realistic, character development. Not sure how I missed this one, but glad I checked it out.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Each of the three seasons are contained in their own Blu-ray case and are spread across 2-discs each. The features are on the first two seasons and include some Deleted Scenes<\/u><\/strong>, Outtakes<\/u><\/strong>, Interview<\/u><\/strong> with Adam Pally and Casey Wilson, and Parody Advertisements<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Mill Creek Entertainment releases Happy Endings: The Complete Series<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented in its originally televised 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. The show might not look amazing in HD, but certainly has more detail and color vibrancy compared to how it aired 6+ years ago. Still, it\u2019s an impressive looking picture from a budget-oriented home media company.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Each episode is accompanied by a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which is perfectly serviceable considering the bulk of every episode is either dialogue or some stock-sounding score. As such, most of the audio comes through the center channel while the front and rear channels are basically reserved for any ambient or off-screen audio.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
