As Commander Sharon Raydor (MARY MCDONNELL) and her squad — Provenza (G.W. BAILEY), Flynn (TONY DENISON), Tao (MICHAEL PAUL CHAN), Sanchez (RAYMOND CRUZ), Sykes (KEARRAN GIOVANNI) and Watson (PHILLIP P. KEENE) — track down the lethal perpetrators, they face additional challenges from a new boss, Assistant Chief Leo Mason (LEONARD ROBERTS), whose methods force them to question their faith in the justice system and their ability to grapple with changing priorities. Finally, the squad must negotiate elements of extreme risk as they confront the return of a familiar serial rapist: Phillip Stroh (BILLY BURKE).

Quick Hit Review: Major Crimes in many ways was better than its predecessor, The Closer as I actually enjoyed the main character of Sharon Raydor to be a bit more tolerable and the performance from Mary McDonnell really turned what was a foil on The Closer to being a genuinely likeable character. To go along with McDonnell, the cast once again in this sixth season works so well with one another that helped overcome some of the slower episodes.

Speaking of which, although it was entertaining to binge watch the season with three storylines spread across multiple parts. This is fine but if you want to just watch one or two episodes, it’s hard to just jump in. Even so, the series closed out rather strongly and I will truly miss the cast of characters that we’ve gotten to know over six years and for a few, beyond.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 1.5/5

This 3-disc set comes housed in a standard DVD case and has a side-sliding matted slip cover, matching the previous season releases.
