PLOT SYNOPSIS<\/span><\/h3>\n

Novelist Tom Garrett (DANA ANDREWS) and publisher Austin Spencer (SIDNEY BLACKMER) intend to show how lawyer Roy Thompson (PHILIP BOURNEUF) has been using circumstantial evidence in capital punishment trials. They concoct a scheme in which flimsy evidence will point to Garrett as a murder suspect, but Spencer will exonerate him at the end. Meanwhile, they keep the plan a secret from Spencer’s daughter, Susan (JOAN FONTAINE), who is engaged to Garrett. However, the trial doesn’t go as planned.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The film debuts on Blu-ray through the Warner MOD Archive Collection presented in its original 2.00 widescreen aspect ratio and given a newly restored 1080p high-definition transfer which does look fantastic showing off sharp detail and aided by some natural film grain.<\/p>\n

The film comes with a standard but fairly boisterous DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track and given it is mostly dialogue, it is on the limited side, but there was no noticeable instances of pops, hisses or other imperfections.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This Blu-ray from the Warner Archive Collection has respectable video\/audio transfers but lackluster in the bonus material department.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
