PLOT SYNOPSIS

Mame Dennis (ROSALIND RUSSELL), a progressive and independent woman of the 1920s, is left to care for her nephew Patrick (JAN HANDZLIK\/ROGER SMITH) after his wealthy father dies. Mr. Babcock (FRED CLARK), Patrick’s assigned executor, objects to Mame’s unconventional way of living and tries to force her to send Patrick to prep school. As Mame and Patrick grow closer, Mr. Babcock tries to discipline Patrick and threatens to separate the two if Mame does not comply with his wishes.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Warner Brothers releases Auntie Mame<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray through their Archive On-Demand program, presented in its original 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer, which was newly restored for this release. The picture is sharp throughout and rather clean, free of any obvious dust marks, aliasing and other flaws. Colors are also especially vibrant without appearing artificially pumped up.<\/p>\n

The disc comes with a standard but decent DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track which outputs the dialogue rather nicely and with clarity. Otherwise, it\u2019s basic with some okay depth, for a singular track, with the score.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This Blu-ray released by Warner\u2019s Archive Collection has good video\/audio transfers but limited in terms of features.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
