Warner releases Scarecrow<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented with a 2.40 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Although the movie is 40+ years old, I found this to look rather good. Detail is fairly sharp enhanced with fine natural film grain while colors appear natural. There were a few minor dust marks here and there but nothing obvious or that would detract from the viewer\u2019s experience.<\/p>\n

The disc comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track. Considering the vast majority of the movie is strictly dialogue, this is a perfectly serviceable track albeit nothing extraordinary, which is fine for a drama.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Scarecrow<\/em><\/strong> is a bit of a gem, one that I honestly never heard of though I guess it\u2019s easy to get lost amongst the 1970s classics like The Godfather<\/em>, Rocky<\/em>, Taxi Driver<\/em> and A Clockwork Orange<\/em> just to name a few. Hopefully with this Blu-ray it will be re-discovered as the performances from both Hackman and Pacino are tremendous. The Blu-ray release is lackluster in the features while the video is good and audio adequate.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
