Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>After a perilous mission to a huge asteroid, a crew returns to its space station, unaware that a bit of ooze from the asteroid clings to a crewman\u2019s uniform. The green goop grows into murderous, tentacle monsters. And as station members fight to live, gunk from the monsters\u2019 wounds turns into more monsters! Now Commander Jack Rankin (ROBERT HORTON) must work with Commander Vince Elliott (RICHARD JAECKEL) \u2014 as the pair has a contentious past including when Dr. Lisa Benson (LUCIANA PALUZZI) left Rankin for Elliott \u2014 to find a way to attack these creatures.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>There is some debate whether or not The Green Slime<\/em><\/strong> was intentionally or unintentionally hilarious and seen through today\u2019s cinema, the former would be true, but for its time, I believe the latter. This is an utterly cheesy and often laugh-inducing sci-fi adventure produced by the Japanese company Toei and even though it does feature English-speaking actors, for whatever reason bad dubbing was still used. Then you add in some silly looking monsters that were anything but frightening and you\u2019ve got a recipe for a fun time watching an incredibly bad movie.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The Green Slime<\/em><\/strong> oozes onto Blu-ray courtesy of the Warner Archive Collection (MOD) and is presented in its original 2.35 widescreen and has been remastered with a new 1080p high-definition transfer and this does look incredibly good. It features sharp detail throughout and colors, such as the green slime itself, appear to be natural and, best of all, no noticeable or obvious signs of artifacts, aliasing, dust, dirt or other flaws.<\/p>\n

The included DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track which sounds pretty good. Dialogue levels come through with nice clarity and even features some okay depth during the action-centric sequences like on the asteroid or the crew fighting the monsters.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The Blu-ray released through Warner\u2019s Archive Collection has good video\/audio transfers but only a trailer in the features department.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
