Season Synopsis: <\/strong>Season three begins when Team Z \u2014 zombie extraordinaire\/empath Olivia Moore (ROSE MCIVER), Detective Clive Babineaux (MALCOLM GOODWIN), M.E. Ravi Chakrabarti, Major Nathan Lilywhite (ROBERT BUCKLEY) and ADA Peyton Charles (ALY MICHALKA) \u2014 discovers a secret zombie army living in Seattle! Major finds acceptance in this army, while Live and Clive investigate the murder of a zombie family that could trigger an all-out zombie-versus-human apocalypse. Ravi\u2019s former boss, Katty Kupps (CHRISTINA COX) investigates the Max Rager massacre; Blaine (DAVID ANDERS) discovers that living as a human with no memory of his evil past is totally awesome; and one of Peyton\u2019s cases could lead to a nasty villain. After fine meals of newly deceased brains, Liv assumes the traits of a dominatrix, an extreme stuntman, a conspiracy theorist, a dungeon master and more.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: iZombie<\/em><\/strong> is back and as good as ever mixing blood, brains, comedy and i-political intrigue with great effectiveness. The writing as always is top notch but what has made the series work from its inaugural season is with the amazing cast headlined by a star-making performance by Rose McIver playing perhaps the best undead character in the history of television… well, perhaps second to Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em>. McIver not only has to play a brain-eating zombie but personify various personalities in just about every episode. Casting on these TV shows is often underrated and nabbing this former Power Ranger (R.P.M.) and Tinker Bell on Once Upon a Time<\/em>, was brilliant.<\/p>\n

The season expands on the zombie mythos with the introduction of Vivian Stoll, the head of Fillmore-Graves, a company that is preparing for the aforementioned zombie apocalypse with an army of the undead and has a private island. And there\u2019s more internal turmoil within Team Z not only with Babinseaux still trying to wrap his head around the existence of zombies but Ravi\u2019s relationship with Peyton oft boils over. Outside of McIver, David Anders as Blaine plays a great hero\/villain akin to Spike on Buffy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    iZombie<\/em> <\/strong>comes to\u00a0 Blu-ray through Warner\u2019s Archive Collection and is presented with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio as originally televised and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture quality is pretty good with sharp images which were nicely defined throughout; it looks fairly clean with no major instances of aliasing but a little banding though nothing excessively distracting.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    The season has been given a decently robust DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. It\u2019s nothing amazing but does provide for crisp and clear dialogue levels while the score\/soundtrack makes the most usage of the front channels and ambient noises from the rear speakers. The LFE channel doesn\u2019t really factor in but on the whole this probably is a fair upgrade over its DVD counterpart and slightly better compared to how it originally aired.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
