Visceral and immersive, the series explores the human dimensions of the war through revelatory testimony of nearly 80 witnesses from all sides \u2014 the Americans who fought in the war and others who opposed it, as well as combatants and civilians from North and South Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/phwql84.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"The Vietnam War\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/phwql84.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>Ken Burns\u2019 name is associated with quality documentary filmmaking that included <em>The Civil War<\/em> and <em>The Roosevelts<\/em> amongst others, but the former is easily his best. But <strong><em>The Vietnam War<\/em><\/strong> is a close second outlining every side of the, for the lack of a better word, messy war where, unlike World War II, the lines were at best blurry and America\u2019s ego, that is the egos of those in the government, seemingly doubled-down sending more and more soldiers into a war with no end game and fighting for a weak South Vietnamese government.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although it is a tough sit, <strong><em>The Vietnam War<\/em><\/strong> is well worth the time commitment clocking in over 8 hours blending both archive footage with new interviews by those who served, their spouses\/loved ones and experts on the subject.
