Warner Bros. first cartoon superstar, everyone\u2019s favorite pantless porcine, Porky Pig, takes center stage. From his humble beginnings as the breakout star of a schoolhouse talent show in \u2018I Haven\u2019t Got a Hat\u2019 to his slimmer, slaphappy sidekick stage alongside Daffy Duck in \u2018Porky Pig\u2019s Fear\u2019, across Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes, in two-strip Technicolor and scintillating black and white, Porky\u2019s ascent from rascally school gang member to superstar spokespig is fully on display in this collection.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>To be honest, I\u2019m more of a Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck fan, with some Elmer Fudd thrown in for humorous measure, so Porky Pig was never a favorite of mine, but I still found the character, on his own, relatively funny and in this collection there are some solid bronze humor and with an astounding 101 episodes, some not exactly PC today, so perhaps parents might want to skip those if watching with the kids, any fan of the character should be more than pleased with what was compiled here.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Amazingly, there are 14 tracks included here from a variety of people as they look at different aspects of the episodes including cultural and style.<\/p>\n

Storyboards<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 \u2018Porky\u2019s Party\u2019 (13:07) and \u2018Porky\u2019s Poor Fish\u2019 (8:35) are looks at the early concepts for the episode.<\/p>\n

Porky\u2019s Breakdowns (0:54)<\/u><\/strong> has the character hammering a nail and attempting to say, \u2018Son of a Bitch\u2019… which, spoiler, he does at the end.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, this is a great collection of Porky Pig cartoons, 101 in fact, and just an all around excellent set for any fan of the character or animation style. To go along with that, there are 14 episode commentary tracks and some early storyboards on two of the episodes. It might be somewhat pricey for DVD-R (at the time of this writing, it is $35), but worth it for fans.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
