Quick Hit Review: Daredevil<\/em><\/strong> season two is utterly wonderful filled with a great crop of characters, both old and new, and while I\u2019m still not entirely sold on Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock\/Daredevil, as the blind, helpful Hell\u2019s Kitchen lawyer he\u2019s fine but not entirely intimidating even as a man dressed like a devil… But for the faults in the casting of the lead, is overcome by some great supporting characters and casting including newcomer Jon Bernthal introducing us to The Punisher prior to getting his own Netflix\/Marvel television series (not unlike Luke Cage debuting on Jessica Jones<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Can\u2019t say I\u2019m completely in love with this season but there\u2019s a lot to like including a couple guest appearances by the always welcomed Vincent D\u2019Onofrio making the presence of his Fisk character known in spite of being locked away by Daredevil and Jon Bernthal is easily the highlight and look forward to his series… once it gets released on home video in about 2-3 years the way things go.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Daredevil: The Complete Second Season<\/em><\/strong> kicks ass onto Blu-ray presented in its original 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Like Jessica Jones<\/em>, there is a fair portion of the show that takes place at night, but even so, there are flares of color including that of Daredevil\u2019s suit, though even that looks black in certain shots. The daylight scenes show the most promise with good detail and natural skin tones. This transfer is fairly clean with no obvious signs of artifacts, aliasing or banding.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Each episode comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which I found serviceable enough though sometimes a bit on the weaker side. Dialogue levels at least do come through the center channel cleanly and there is a moderate amount of depth during shootouts and even the LFE channel clicks on for an extra layer. That said, this isn\u2019t going to wow anyone but is more than adequate considering the source.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Daredevil: The Complete Second Season<\/em><\/strong> is yet another success story from the Netflix\/Marvel line-up that I\u2019ve seen (missed Iron Fist<\/em> which, from I can tell, is a good thing), and this season features some solid performances, even though I still can\u2019t buy Charlie Cox in the lead, headlined by Jon Bernthal who is great as The Punisher. As for this Blu-ray, the video and audio transfers are both very good but like Jessica Jones<\/em>, no features were included.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
