Blackbeard<\/em><\/strong> is shown with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio as originally televised. The 1080p high-definition picture (MPEG-4 AVC codec) is by no means terrible as detail is relatively sharp and colors have a certain brightness. The only downside is dark levels are more gray than anything.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie includes a standard Dolby Digital 2.0 track. Even though it\u2019s an older codec, and doubtful a DTS-HD MA or PCM uncompressed would\u2019ve sounded a whole lot better, I actually found it to be somewhat effective. Along with the clean dialogue, there was a fair amount of ship to ship battles which helps give this track a modest amount of depth to say the least.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, probably the only thing the Blackbeard<\/em><\/strong> mini-series is remembered for is being one of Jessica Chastain\u2019s first major roles, otherwise most everything in this seemed cheap from including the production and at nearly three hours, a slog to sit through. This Blu-ray released from Mill Creek is basic with standard audio\/video transfers and no bonus material.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
