The Lovers<\/em><\/strong> comes on Blu-ray through Lionsgate and is presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture isn\u2019t anything spectacular but more or less on par with any new movie. Colors are on the innate side of things and skin tones do appear natural in appearance while detail is sharp and nicely defined throughout.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, as with the picture, is ordinary but effective. There\u2019s really not much depth to judge outside of your standard, run-of-the-mill score, yet dialogue levels do sound crisp and clean coming via the center speaker. But as I said, given this is a romantic-drama, your sound system isn\u2019t going to get much of a workout.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, The Lovers<\/em><\/strong> isn\u2019t great, a bit uneven at times and not entirely impactful in its drama, but I did enjoy seeing Debra Winger in a lead role and the chemistry between her and Tracy Letts is well done, not to mention Aidan Gillen has some decent scenes. This Blu-ray released by Lionsgate includes some below average bonus features while the video and audio transfers were above average.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
