But as Caesar&#8217;s intellect and abilities grow, he comes to represent a threat to man&#8217;s dominion over Earth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>For whatever reason I had avoided seeing <strong><em>Rise of the Planet of the Apes<\/em><\/strong>, maybe because I\u2019m not as enamored with the original from the 60s and 70s or still suffering from effects of Tim Burton\u2019s version from 2000, but I found this reboot of the series to be rather entertaining. The performances from the human cast were serviceable, though Franco was impressive, but excels with motion captured, headlined by Andy Serkis as Caesar, bringing some genuine emotion behind the CGI, as he had done on the <em>Lord of the Rings<\/em> films.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Directed by Rupert Wyatt, <strong><em>Rise<\/em><\/strong> does a fine job re-establishing the series with a more grounded feel and in conjunction with striking visual effects, even beyond the apes, I found this to be an enjoyable sci-fi actioner.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>SPECIAL FEATURES \u2013 3.5\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This release comes with a textured-like <strong>slip cover<\/strong>. HD)<\/u><\/strong> examines the <em>Apes<\/em> franchise and carrying on its legacy and taking a new view on it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>The Genius of Andy Serkis (7:48; HD)<\/u><\/strong> looks at the actor\u2019s mo-cap work as Caesar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>A New Generation of Apes (9:41;
