Jane Hardy (TRISH VAN DEVERE), a recently divorced teacher from San Francisco, decides to spend the summer at the large old country home willed to her by her aunt. However, upon arriving in the sleepy town where her aunt lived, she’s met with hostility from the locals and slowly begins to discover her aunt\u2019s dark connections to witchcraft and the occult, all the while being menaced by a large black hearse that mysteriously drives near her house in the dead of night…<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The Hearse<\/em><\/strong> arrives on Blu-ray through Vinegar Syndrome and is presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture for this 37 year old picture looks decent enough with natural looking colors and fairly sharp detail throughout; the only downside is there were instances of dust marks and scratches, so not quite pristine but still good.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track is basic but effective. The bulk of the movie is dialogue-driven anyway with slight depth, albeit through the center channel, with ambient noises and the 1980s-era soundtrack\/score.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, The Hearse<\/em><\/strong> has its moments but the combination of horror, supernatural, romance and mystery, didn\u2019t quite gel for me, however actress Trish Van Devere does deliver for the type of movie this is. As far as the Vinegar Syndrome Blu-ray is concerned, the picture and audio transfers are well done even if the features fall short.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
