PLOT SYNOPSIS

Interiors<\/em><\/strong> is writer-director Woody Allen\u2019s full-throated venture into drama and presents us with a look at a dysfunctional family dominated by the controlling madness of its matriarch, Eve (GERALDINE PAGE). Her reluctant husband (E.G. MARSHALL) and their three daughters (DIANE KEATON, MARY BETH HURT, KRISTIN GRIFFTH) make doomed efforts to cope with Eve\u2019s demands, while also trying to get on with their own lives. Caught in Eve\u2019s web are their significant others (SAM WATERSTON, RICHARD JORDAN). But all bets are off when an ebullient stranger (MAUREEN STAPLETON) enters the picture.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Twilight Time releases Interiors<\/em><\/strong> presented in its original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. This is hardly perfect but as a movie filmed in the late \u201870s, I did find it to be above average with decent detail while colors tended to be on the muted side. There were a couple instances of specs but all in all it\u2019s perfectly satisfactory.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Along those same lines, the DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track is fine considering the bulk of this film is dialogue driven with some extra depth for the soundtrack\/score. As with most of Woody Allen\u2019s films, you\u2019re really not going to get the full effect of HD audio.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Interiors<\/em><\/strong> is the latest of the, at least to me, obscure Woody Allen films to find their way onto Blu-ray. The film itself is fine headlined by some fine performances and at least a compelling enough story. The Blu-ray meanwhile is basic with only a trailer and fine audio\/video transfers.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
