Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe (MEGALYN ECHIKUNWAKE) grew up an orphan after her parents were killed by local greed, corruption and wanton violence. But Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting her family\u2019s Anansi Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals \u2013 anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect her city of Detroit from threats like those that claimed her family. Aiding her in the fight are Arrow (STEPHEN AMELL), The Flash (GRANT GUSTIN), Black Canary (KATIE CASSIDY) and The Atom (BRANDON ROUTH).<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: Vixen<\/em><\/strong> was originally a series of 12 5-minute shorts and this movie culled those together to make a movie. In theory, this might\u2019ve been interesting but in practice it\u2019s a jumbled mess with pacing issues and some so-so voice acting, though Meaglyn Echikunwake wasn\u2019t terrible while the likes of Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell just felt off. It\u2019s a relatively quick watch I suppose and the animation more or less lines up with the others in the DC Animated Universe, however they might\u2019ve done this character more service starting from scratch, even if she\u2019s basically a female Black Panther…<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The only features included is Vixen<\/u><\/em>: Spirit Animal (6:13; HD)<\/u><\/strong> featurette and Bruce Timm\u2019s Top Picks<\/strong>, two episodes from Justice League Unlimited<\/em>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Warner Home Video releases Vixen<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer which I found to look nice enough with bright colors though some banding issues in some of the sky shots.<\/p>\n

The disc comes with your basic DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which I found a little too low key, however dialogue levels were decent enough while the action scenes were rather flat.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The Blu-ray released by Warner offers good video, okay audio and one throwaway featurette.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
