Written by Nancy Meyers and Charles Shyer and directed by Shyer, Baby Boom<\/em> (1987) is a romantic comedy with an edge, starring the superb Diane Keaton as a driven Manhattan career woman who finds her life turned upside down when she “inherits” a baby. A semi-satiric fantasy unfurls as she loses her job and her yuppie boyfriend (Harold Ramis), moves with baby to a deeply picturesque if falling-down Vermont house, and meets a helpful Gary Cooper-ish vet (Sam Shepard). Gorgeously shot by William A. Fraker, and featuring an iconic score by the great Bill Conti (Broadcast News<\/em>, The Right Stuff<\/em>).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Baby Boom<\/em><\/strong> celebrates its 30th anniversary debuting on Blu-ray through Twilight Time and is presented in its original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and given a pleasant looking 1080p high-definition transfer.<\/p>\n

Accompanying it is a DTS-HD Master Audio Stereo track which was fairly robust when it came to the music, including the cheesy opening theme, and still provides clean and crisp dialogue levels.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Baby Boom<\/em><\/strong> was one of many working woman movies of the mid-to-late 80s but does feature a wonderful performance by Diane Keaton and it\u2019s never a bad thing to see Harold Ramis outside the Ghostbusters<\/em> franchise. This Blu-ray released by Twilight Time offers good video\/audio transfers but is limited on the bonus material side, though the commentary is worth a listen.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
