Plot Synopsis: Trespass Against Us<\/em><\/strong> is set across three generations of the Cutler family who live as outlaws in their own anarchic corner of a rich countryside. Chad Cutler (MICHAEL FASSBENDER) is heir apparent to his bruising criminal father, Colby (BRENDAN GLEESON) and has been groomed to spend his life hunting, thieving and tormenting the police. But with his own son, Tyson (GEORGE SMITH) coming of age, Chad soon finds himself locked in a battle with his father for the future of his young family. When Colby learns of Chad\u2019s dreams for another life he sets out to tie his son and grandson into the archaic order that has bound the Cutler family for\u00a0generations. He engineers a spectacular piece of criminal business involving a heist, a high-speed car chase and a manhunt, which leaves Chad bruised and bloodied and with his very freedom at stake.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>This film is the definition of performance over story. Slowly paced, I had a hard time paying attention to a plot that plodded more than sizzled and the only reason it was worth staying until the end was due to the lead performances by Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson, neither of whom disappoint. This to me is at best a rental though Americans be warned: the English dialect can make it tough to understand what\u2019s being said and it might be beneficial to turn on the English subtitles.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Blood Bonds: On the Set of Trespass Against Us<\/em> (21:54; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a moderately lengthy featurette that takes viewers behind-the-scenes and hear from the cast and crew as they talk about the project.<\/p>\n

Heartfelt: Director Adam Smith on The Chemical Brothers (4:47; HD)<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 This is rather self-explanatory, but we get a look at the creation of the score.<\/p>\n

Trespass Against Us<\/em><\/strong> comes to Blu-ray through Lionsgate with a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec) and its original 2.40 widescreen aspect ratio. The picture might not be brilliant looking, lacking a certain crispness I come to expect from HD but still detail is relatively sharp and blacks appear stark while colors are on the muted side in keeping with the darker tone.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie includes a standard DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 which is effective enough but hardly filled with depth, though each channel gets some fine usage with the front and rears relegated for the Chemical Brothers\u2019 score and some ambient noises (like during the chase sequence hearing the police sirens coming in and out). It\u2019s nothing amazing but certainly satisfactory enough especially for a film that\u2019s probably 90% dialogue.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
