Shot in Cinescope in and around the Grand Canyon, director Don Siegel\u2019s actioner Edge of Eternity<\/em><\/strong> stars Cornel Wilde as a hard-jawed deputy with a past, suddenly dealing with a plague of murders. There\u2019s mystery, there\u2019s romance (VICTORIA SHAW is the tough, attractive woman with whom Wilde teams), and above all there are thrills, including a climax shot by legendary cinematographer Burnett Guffey to rival any cliffhanger ever put on screen.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Might be dry for some, but I tend to enjoy these especially for older films.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Twilight Time releases Edge of Eternity<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented in its original 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and with a gorgeous looking 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec). I actually was stunned at how beautiful this looked with rich colors as well as showing off the grandeur of the, well, Grand Canyon. Skin tones appear natural looking and detail is absolutely sharp. There is some natural film grain and noise but that only adds to the viewing experience.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The included DTS-HD Master Audio 1.0 track might not be as brilliant but for a singular channel, I found it to be more than adequate be it for dialogue which comes through fairly clearly or the action-centric scenes such as the finale where moderate amount of depth is showcased.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Edge of Eternity<\/em><\/strong> is a rather obscure but quite entertaining little thriller that includes a simple story in conjunction with beautiful cinematography making good use of the glory of the Grand Canyon. This Blu-ray released by Twilight Time offers excellent video, good audio though we only get a commentary track.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
