Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>After a flight back home, Sam Hendrix (EFREM ZIMBALIST JR.) returns with a doll he innocently acquired along the way. As it turns out, the doll is actually stuffed with heroin, and a group of criminals (RICHARD CREENA, JACK WESTON), led by the ruthless Roat (ALAN ARKIN), has followed Hendrix back to his place to retrieve it. When Hendrix leaves for business, the crooks make their move \u2013 and find his blind wife, Susy (AUBREY HEPBURN), alone in the apartment. Soon, a life-threatening game begins between Susy and the\u00a0thugs.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: Wait Until Dark<\/em><\/strong> is a relatively intense, effective and efficient little thriller from the mid-60s with a fantastic cast and incredible performances, especially from Audrey Hepburn (who received an Academy Award nomination) and a truly scary Alan Arkin playing an intense psychopathic character. Although there are slow parts in the middle, the finale is intense.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Wait Until Dark<\/em><\/strong> debuts on Blu-ray through Warner\u2019s Archive Collection presented in its original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture quality was decent enough with good detail and colors appear to fairly vibrant while dark levels, for which there\u2019s plenty to judge especially in the finale, looks stark. I didn\u2019t notice anything in regards to artifacts, aliasing or other flaws so it looks like a fine transfer from Warner Archives.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc includes a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track and for a movie that is either dialogue or score heavy, it does sound fine coming from the front channels. There were no noticeable hisses, pops or other ailments so, like the video, makes for an adequate sounding lossless track.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Released through Warner\u2019s Archive\u2019s Collection, this Blu-ray offers good video\/audio transfers making it a worthwhile purchase.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
