<\/a>Creepshow 2<\/em><\/strong> certainly isn\u2019t as good as its predecessor (which had a fantastic line-up of actors) but this sequel is still a lot of fun with one memorable line (\u201cThanks for the ride, lady!\u201d). While I wasn\u2019t a fan of \u2018Old Chief Wood\u2019nhead\u2019, the other two stories weren\u2019t bad at all.<\/p>\n

Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>In \u201cOld Chief Wood\u2019nhead\u201d, a group of young hoodlums face retribution from an unlikely source after looting a local hardware store and killing the owners (GEORGE KENNEDY, DOROTHY LAMOUR). Meanwhile, \u201cThe Raft\u201d sees a group of horny teens wishing they\u2019d read the warning signs first before taking a dip in a remote lake where some sort glob is gunning for them. Finally, an uptight businesswoman (LOIS CHILES) finds herself with some unwanted company following a hit-and-run incident in \u201cThe Hitch-hiker\u201d.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>I\u2019m not normally a fan of these short features but I did enjoy at least two out of the three (Raft and Hitch-hiker) for the half-baked writing, quasi-bad acting and all around cheesy gore effects. \u201cThe Raft\u201d in particular has an old school, 1950s, vibe to it giving an extra layer of entertainment. \u201cOld Chief Wood\u2019nhead\u201d was OK but didn\u2019t quite live up to its potential, though it\u2019s always nice seeing George Kennedy.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Arrow Video unleashes Creepshow 2<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented in the film\u2019s original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer culled from the 35mm negative and scanned to 2K resolution. As a relatively cheap production, I was impressed with the work the studio did with natural-looking skin tones, relatively sharp detail and a clean looking transfer with no noticeable instances of dust marks, scratches or other ailments.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes equipped with an adequate, and moderately impressive, DTS-HD Master Audio tracks with three options: 1.0, 2.0 and 5.1 and encoded in that order. Sampling all three, the mono version is the way to go with crisp and clean dialogue levels and even the soundtrack comes through the center channel well enough. The stereo option does have a more hollow, echoed vibe while the 5.1 track is a bit more rounded and does sound okay, though purists will want to stick to the 1.0 default.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
