The promise of a new life emerges when Barry inadvertently attracts the affection of a mysterious woman named Lena (EMILY WATSON), but their budding relationship is threatened when he falls prey to the swindling operator of a phone sex line and her deranged boss (PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review: <em>Punch-Drunk Love<\/em><\/strong> might not be one of Paul Thomas Anderson\u2019s greatest films, I personally prefer his ensemble drama <em>Magnolia<\/em>, but it\u2019s one of his more intimate films and one that showed Adam Sandler actually had some dramatic chops, a side to him I wish he\u2019d do more of instead of some poorly written slapstick comedy. Colors are generally vibrant and detail, even in darker shots, which are stark, is well defined and sharp.
