<\/a>Slugs<\/em><\/strong> is a classic 1980s B-movie that is less scary and more hilarious fun that probably would appeal to the B-movie realm of films or grew up in the 1980s. It\u2019s far from amazing but the idea of killer slugs is in itself amusing.<\/p>\n

PLOT SYNOPSIS

The townsfolk of a rural community are dying in strange and gruesome circumstances. Following the trail of horrifically mutilated cadavers, resident health inspector Mike Brady (MICHAEL GARFIELD) is on the case to piece together the mystery. He soon comes to a terrifying conclusion: giant slugs are breeding in the sewers below, and they\u2019re making a meal of the locals.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Audio Commentaries<\/u><\/strong>: 1. Slugs Author Shaun Hutson; 2. Writer\/Filmmaker Chris Alexander. Neither are uber-fascinating (though both are lively) but gives a historical perspective on the film and how they became fans.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s Slug in Your Eye (7:39; HD)<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 An interview with actor Emilio Linder conducted in Madrid, Spain in April of 2016. The actor recounts his time working on the film and how he got the role.<\/p>\n

They Slime, They Ooze, They Kill (10:46; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is an interview with special effects artist Carlo De Marchis (also conducted in Madrid).<\/p>\n

Invasion USA (11:52; HD)<\/u><\/strong> has Art Director Gonzalo Gonzalo chatting about his work on the film (conducted in Madrid) and influences on his career.<\/p>\n

The Lyons Den (21:00; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a locations tour and interview with production manager Larry Ann Evans. This is one of the cooler features as Evans goes back to locations today.<\/p>\n

Released through Arrow Video, Slugs<\/em><\/strong> is a brand new transfer from a 2K restoration from the original negative. I highly doubt a movie likes this looked (or sounded for that matter) better. Colors are generally bright and detail relatively sharp and well defined throughout; and skin tones have a natural appearance. I paid close attention but didn\u2019t see major instances of dust marks or other ailments making for another wonderful transfer from Arrow.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc received the film\u2019s original PCM Mono track which isn\u2019t anything extraordinary but perfectly satisfying. Although limited in its scope, this lossless track still provides for clean dialogue levels and even when the action (slug action anyway) picks up, and the screams begin, there\u2019s some decent enough depth.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Slugs<\/em><\/strong> is a classic 1980s B-movie that is less scary and more hilarious fun that probably would appeal to the B-movie realm of films or grew up in the 1980s. It\u2019s far from amazing but the idea of killer slugs is in itself amusing. The Blu-ray released through Arrow Video offers good video\/audio transfers and a nice selection of bonus features.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
