<\/a>Supernatural: The Complete Eleventh Season<\/em><\/strong> manages to keep up the energy in spite of going on over a decade on the air. The performances are pretty much standard for Padalecki and Ackles but they\u2019re still in top form and the storyline for the season at least feels fresh and is entertaining.<\/p>\n

THE SEASON

Season Eleven plunges Sam and Dean Winchester (JARED PADALECKI and JENSEN ACKLES) into extreme peril as they face The Darkness, a sinister new menace unleashed upon the Earth. They continue their monster-hunting missions, battling the usual werewolves, black-eyed demons and even a vengeful ghost in a stuffed bunny costume, but with a sharp new focus: destroy The Darkness. Needing all the help they can get, the brothers turn to fallen angel Castiel (MISHA COLLINS); the king of Hell, Crowley (MARK A. SHEPPARD) and even an unassuming God (ROB BENEDICT) \u2013 only to come face to face with Lucifer and Crowley\u2019s power-hungry witch-mother Rowena (RUTH CONNELL).<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>For whatever reason, Supernatural<\/em><\/strong> has endured and while the quality of the stories hasn\u2019t been great, it\u2019s at least has been an interesting ride in the fantasy realm and with the bro chemistry between Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who both have said they\u2019d do the show for many years more, keeps the series fresh \u2014 with a new baddie (a hot one) with The Darkness \u2014 in some regards and best of all, entertaining.<\/p>\n

    Supernatural: The Complete Eleventh Season<\/em><\/strong> arrives on Blu-ray presented in its originally televised 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec). The video more or less looks on par with how it did on TV (or at least On Demand as my area has yet to give us CW in HD) however it\u2019s not the most vibrant looking with drab colors for the most part though there are a few scenes where skin tones at least appear natural looking.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    The 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track offered on each episode showcases good and clear dialogue levels and whenever the action does pick up, and there\u2019s quite a bit in every episode, the depth isn\u2019t half bad. Where the track falters is the LFE channel isn\u2019t the best but when it kicks in, it\u2019s a tad dull and the rear channels are pretty much relegated for the generic television score.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
