<\/a>La Moglie Piu Bella<\/em><\/strong> is a haunting and disturbing movie featuring a strong, as well as incredible performance by Ornella Muti who was so young during the filming. Although I doubt I\u2019ll ever revisit this movie, by all means it\u2019s worth checking out especially if you\u2019re a fan of Italian cinema.<\/p>\n

Director Damiano Damiani\u2019s The Most Beautiful Wife<\/em><\/strong> (La Moglie Piu Bella<\/em>) stars the ten 14-year-old beauty, Ornella Muti, as a real-life Sicilian girl who dared to challenge the local mafia. Instead of acceding to a malignant old custom allowing a young Don to kidnap and rape a prospective bride, she puts her foot down, and goes to the police, unleashing the rage of the mobsters, but also the disapproval of her family and neighbors.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

La Moglie Piu Bella<\/em><\/strong> marks its debut on Blu-ray presented in its original 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec) and for the most part, it\u2019s a fine looking picture; detail looks fairly sharp though there is some natural film grain in some shots while skin tones appear to be natural looking.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Not to be outdone, the disc includes both an Italian and English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 tracks with the former being the default option. Both of them sound good but as a purist, I like listening to my movies from the original language of that country. Here, dialogue sounded pretty good but it came to life more with the music (there is an Isolated Scores). There\u2019s nothing outstanding but it\u2019s at least half decent and certainly an improvement over any DVD or VHS releases.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
