<\/a>Zootopia<\/em><\/strong> is on the heavy-handed side of its message however it\u2019s a good one that would be beneficial to kids (and their parents for that matter). The animation is fantastic and the humor mostly works as does the voice talent involved.<\/p>\n

Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>Determined to prove herself, Officer Judy Hopps (GINNIFER GOODWIN), the first bunny on Zootopia\u2019s police force, jumps at the chance to crack her first case \u2013 even if it means partnering with scam-artist fox Nick Wilde (JASON BATEMAN) to solve the mystery of numerous animals who have gone missing. The two must work together, and through their differences, as the case takes them to the underground crime syndicate, ran by Mr. Big and even to the top, Mayor Lionheart (J.K. SIMMONS) who may be involved in some sort of cover-up.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: Zootopia<\/em><\/strong> is a fun and even topical family adventure that features some amazing voice talents headed by Ginnifer Goodwin (\u201cOnce Upon a Time\u201d) and Jason Bateman (\u201cArrested Development\u201d) who probably features the best on-screen animated chemistry as both actually give great (voice) performances. The supporting cast doesn\u2019t disappoint from Bonnie Hunt as the assistant to the mayor and J.K. Simmons as the mayor himself. Beyond the voice cast, the writing is top notch and if I didn\u2019t know otherwise, this could\u2019ve been a Pixar movie given the emotional aspects, as such it\u2019s easily one of Disney\u2019s Animation Studios better animated movies to come down the pike in quite a while.<\/p>\n

This is the type of movie the entire family will enjoy as young kids will find the message to be well done while the adults will appreciate some of the in-jokes, even a reference to, of all\u00a0 things, \u201cBreaking Bad\u201d. Although I don\u2019t think it\u2019s the masterpiece compared to some, it\u2019s still worth buying.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The Origin of an Animal Tale (9:15; HD)<\/u><\/strong> looks at how the story was developed and includes some early animation concept work.<\/p>\n

Zoology: The Roundtables (18:23; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a roundtable discussion with various members of the technical team as they talk about the characters, environment and animation. Includes intros by Ginnifer Goodwin.<\/p>\n

Scoretopia (4:59; HD)<\/u><\/strong> examines the music used as composed by Michael Giacchino.<\/p>\n

Z.P.D. Forensics Files (3:23; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a profile featurette on the Easter Eggs strewn throughout the film including hidden Mickeys.<\/p>\n

Disney releases Zootopia<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented in its original 2.39 widescreen aspect ratio and given a beautiful 1080p high-definition transfer. As one would expect, the colors are absolutely vibrant and has that nice pop off the screen. Detail is sharp and there were no major flaws like artifacts or aliasing making for a gorgeous looking picture.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Not to be outdone, the disc comes with a strong DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 track which offers crisp and clean dialogue levels throughout while the more action-oriented scenes, and there are quite a few, gives off nice depth. The various music, including Shakira\u2019s song toward the end, resonates fairly well.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
