<\/a>OUTATIME: Saving the DeLorean Time Machine<\/em><\/strong> is a well made documentary yet I still wanted something more in-depth though knowing the limitations the director was facing, it\u2019s not half bad and any fan of Back to the Future<\/em> will find it fascinating and a good addition to their BTTF<\/em> video library.<\/p>\n

Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>The DeLorean Time Machine is the most famous movie car in the world. But after decades of harsh weather, souvenir hunters and wild animals \u2013 this cinema icon seemed destined for the junkyard. Outatime<\/em><\/strong> chronicles the efforts of Bob Gale (Co-Writer\/Producer of the Back to the Future<\/em> trilogy), Universal Studios and a group of dedicated fans, as they work together to bring this cinema icon back to life.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: OUTATIME: Saving the DeLorean Time Machine<\/em><\/strong> is a well made documentary and although I wish it were a bit more in the weeds in the restoration, given the limitations, director Steve Concotelli does a good job giving a brief history on the DeLorean-turned-time machine and how it became deteriorated due to weather and, well, thievery. It\u2019s pretty standard documentary style with plenty of footage of the restoration team at work intercut with talking heads including Bob Gale and members of the team talking viewers through the process.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

It Belongs in a Museum (6:19; HD)<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 This featurette is on a BTTF DeLorean being displayed at the Petersen Automotive Museum and Joe\u2019s team getting it museum ready.<\/p>\n

Bonus Scenes (18:53; HD)<\/u><\/strong> are a collection of extra footage and interview sound bites.<\/p>\n

Time Machine 101 (4:16; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a tutorial on the car and terms.<\/p>\n

The Legacy of Bob Burns (3:39; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a profile on sci-fi collector\/restorer Burns.<\/p>\n

OUTATIME<\/em><\/strong> is presented with a 1080i high-definition transfer and looks fine with decent detail and colors look bright enough. There\u2019s not much here as it probably was shot digitally and given it is a documentary, we\u2019re not looking at much style, just point and shoot.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc comes with an adequate but low key DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track which at least provides for clean dialogue though the bulk of the audio centrally located with some music give it some ever so minor depth.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, OUTATIME: <\/em><\/strong>Saving the DeLorean Time Machine<\/em><\/strong> is a well made documentary yet I still wanted something more in-depth though knowing the limitations the director was facing, it\u2019s not half bad and any fan of Back to the Future<\/em> will find it fascinating and a good addition to their BTTF<\/em> video library. The Blu-ray released through Virgil offers good video, so-so audio but a fair amount of bonus features.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
