Now stuck between half-alive and undead, Liv withdraws from her best friend (ALY MICHALKA), calls off her engagement to her fianc\u00e9 (ROBERT BUCKLEY) and transfers to Seattle\u2019s morgue to access the only thing that allows her to maintain her humanity: human brains.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/2Eb13ga.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"iZombie: Season 1\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/2Eb13ga.png\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But there are side effects to Liv\u2019s new diet: She gets visions \u2013 flashes of the corpse\u2019s memories \u2013 including clues as to how they were killed. Liv\u2019s boss, a brilliant and eccentric examiner, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (RAHUL KOHLI), encourages her to embrace this newfound talent and help an eager, unproven homicide detective, Clive Babineaux (MALCOLM GOODWIN), solve the murders. It\u2019s the least a good citizen zombie can do!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review:<br \/>\n\u201ciZombie\u201d<\/strong> is an incredibly fun series, mish-mashing \u201cBody of Proof\u201d (if anyone remembers that show) with the wit, comedy and blood of \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer\u201d and zombie elements of \u201cThe Walking Dead\u201d. Based off of the Vertigo comic book, <strong>\u201ciZombie\u201d<\/strong> is the perfect blend of mystery, horror and dry humor written so well and in conjunction with some great casting, not least of all Rose McIver (Tinker Bell on \u201cOnce Upon a Time\u201d and Yellow Ranger on \u201cPower Rangers R.P.M.\u201d) with high honorable mention to Rahul Kohli as her quirky boss and confidant.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/q9KxY8j.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"iZombie: Season 1\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/q9KxY8j.png\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I wasn\u2019t entirely sure what to expect going into the pilot episode but with an innovative take on, at least in part, crime procedural, the show works so well and the 13 episodes of its first season flew by, in spite of a few pacing issues early on, easily overcome by McIver\u2019s charisma and deadpan humor which helps matters. In keeping with its darkly comedic\/horror vibe, the show varies from darker elements to lighter scenes which show up quite well in HD. Detail looks sharp and all in all it looks like a clean looking picture free of artifacts, aliasing and other flaws.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>AUDIO \u2013 3.75\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: justify;\">The season has been given a decently robust DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. It\u2019s nothing amazing but does provide for crisp and clear dialogue levels while the score\/soundtrack makes the most usage of the front channels and ambient noises from the rear speakers.
