<\/a>\u201cAttack on Titan\u201d: Part I<\/strong> is an incredible anime series and perhaps one of my favorites alongside or just behind \u201cGhost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.\u201d The voice acting is excellent and the story compelling from beginning to end, and that\u2019s to go along with beautiful animation.<\/p>\n

Season Summary: <\/strong>When the man-eating giants called Titans first appeared, humans retreated behind massive walls. After a hundred years of safety, a colossal-sized Titan smashes through the defenses, unleashing a flood of giants and carnage in the streets. Eren Jaeger (YUKI KAJI\/BRYCE PAPENBROOK) watches helplessly as one of the creatures devours his mother.<\/p>\n

Eren and his surviving friends enlist to fight against the insatiable monsters. The future looks bleak, but there s more to Eren than meets the eye: he may be humanity s last hope against extinction.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: \u201cAttack on Titan\u201d<\/strong> is easily one of the best anime shows and might, in some respects, supplant \u201cGhost in the Shell\u201d as my favorite in the genre. The voice talent is perfect to go along with an intricate and unique and vastly entertaining story from beginning to end. The animation style also stands out and is one of the best I\u2019ve come across of the recent batch of releases. For novice and anime veterans, \u201cAttack on Titan\u201d<\/strong> is one heck of a series, hopefully Hollywood doesn\u2019t attempt to ruin it with some half-baked live action sci-fi film…<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

FUNimation releases \u201cAttack on Titan\u201d<\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented in its originally televised 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a fantastic 1080p high-definition transfer. As one would expect, colors are absolutely brilliant and detail sharp throughout. Although there is some minor banding, all in all this is nearly reference quality work.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Not to be outdone, each episode comes with a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track (2.0 for the original Japanese language) and in both cases they sound great with the former having a tad more depth though you can\u2019t go wrong either way. Dialogue levels are crisp and clear and the various action sequences are fairly robust, though as I said, the English track comes out better by comparison.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This Blu-ray released through FUNimation offers fantastic video\/audio transfers and a great array of bonus material.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
