But with the prodding of his hot girlfriend Jillian (ANNA KENDRICK) and dad Roger (BRYAN CRANSTON), and the fact he doesn\u2019t get work for a magazine he had interned at for a summer, he must compromise to get one, going into the corporate world and abandoning his more independent ideas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/8pbiRJL.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"Get a Job\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/8pbiRJL.png\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Will is roommates with a cast of characters who each are entering the job market: Luke (BRANDON T. JACKSON) becomes a day trader, Charlie (NICHOLAS BRAUN) is a middle school gym teacher, and Ethan (CHRISTOPHER MINTZ-PLASSE) has developed a stalker app.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, Will\u2019s father also is out of work and, after discovering the new age of the job search he hadn\u2019t known in 30 years, spends the entire movie, while hanging out at a hipster coffee shop, trying to find the \u201cdecision maker\u201d for a certain company just so he can show what kind of a hard worker he is.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/0ggILhL.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"Get a Job\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/0ggILhL.png\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review:<br \/>\n<em>Get a Job<\/em><\/strong> was a movie made back in 2012 and it\u2019s not hard to see why CBS Films, had a difficult time finding a theatrical distributor even with a relatively well known cast even back then with Kendrick hitting it big with <em>Pitch Perfect<\/em>. So, it sat on the shelf, collecting dust, for 4 years before getting a VOD and home video release. The result is a movie with a thin plot, poorly written characters, at best so-so performances from the likes of Miles Teller and Anna Kendrick, and for a comedy, absolutely no jokes that landed, in fact I maybe laughed once; even then it was a chuckle.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The supporting cast includes the likes of Brandon T. Jackson, Nicholas Braun, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Marcia Gay Harden, Alison Brie, John C. McGinley and Jorge Garcia who plays some kind of all-knowing janitor. It\u2019s a decent number of talented actors, Harden playing a hard-ass company supervisor, Brie as an office nymphomaniac and McGinley who plays Jackson\u2019s no non-sense boss, yet every one of their talents wasn\u2019t fully utilized.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/QiqyRxy.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"Get a Job\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/QiqyRxy.png\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The film was directed by Dylan Kidd who made his mark back in 2002 with <em>Rodger Dodger<\/em> starring Campbell Scott and Jesse Eisenberg, from a screenplay written by Kyle Pennekamp and Scott Turpel (debuts for both). It clocks in at an remarkably short 84-minutes, with credits, so it\u2019s a quick watch at least so wasn\u2019t quite as painful to sit through compared with something like <em>Zoolander 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"features\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SPECIAL FEATURES \u2013 1.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This release comes with a matted <strong>slip cover<\/strong>. The movie is nice and bright throughout in keeping with the comedy genre, colors are vibrant and skin tones appear to be natural while detail appears sharp and well defined. There\u2019s some decent enough depth in spots with the rear channels being utilized for various ambient noises.
