Plot Synopsis:
\n<\/strong>Cody Banks (FRANKIE MUNIZ) is a 15-year-old CIA operative who has to make sure his chores are done before saving the world. Under the watchful eye of CIA handler Agent Ronica Miles (ANGIE HARMON), Cody is called into service to investigate Dr. Connors (MARTIN DONOVAN), a scientist employed by the nefarious organization known as ERIS headed by Dr. Brinkman (IAN MCSHANE) who\u2019s bent on destroying the world\u2019s defense systems in order to rule the planet.<\/p>\n

When Natalie Connors (HILARY DUFF), Cody\u2019s high school crush and the daughter of the eminent scientist, is used as leverage to force her reluctant father to aid Dr. Brinkman in his plans, Cody springs into action.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review:
\n<\/strong>Harmless family fun, Agent Cody Banks<\/em><\/strong> isn\u2019t exactly a smartly written movie and performance-wise, Frankie Muniz isn\u2019t anything special yet between a solid supporting cast that includes Ian McShane, Arnold Vosloo and Angie Harmon, it was hard not to find some entertainment value amongst all of the silliness and subpar visual effects even back then in 2003.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Most of the features were ported over… except for the commentary track for some reason.<\/p>\n

Director\u2019s Diary (12:39; SD)<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 This is a behind-the-scenes featurette, the footage narrated over by Harald Zwart who discusses storyboards, pre-viz work and other elements.<\/p>\n

Developing Agent Cody Banks <\/em>(4:53; SD)<\/u><\/strong> looks at the creation of the picture from the casting of supporting characters, screen tests, production meetings, etc.<\/p>\n

Deleted Scenes (11:04; SD)<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 There were a few scenes cut down, likely due to pacing issues.<\/p>\n

Outtakes (3:11; SD)<\/u><\/strong> contain the normal line flubs.<\/p>\n

Cast Read-Through (4:31; SD)<\/u><\/strong> is some footage of the cast reading through the script.<\/p>\n

Last up we get a couple basic featurettes, one on the Production Design (6:36; SD)<\/u><\/strong> and the other on the Music (4:38; SD)<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Agent Cody Banks<\/em><\/strong> debuts on Blu-ray courtesy of Olive Films, presented in its original 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer, and although it\u2019s not the cleanest transfer, with some dust marks and specs here and there, colors are at least bright. Detail at least is relatively sharp and for a movie going on 13 years old, and a limited budget, doesn\u2019t look half bad.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

AUDIO \u2013 3.75\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

In a nice surprise, where other Olive releases were given a 2.0 DTS-HD Master Audio track, this one comes with the full 5.1 channels. Dialogue levels sound crisp and clean throughout and when the action starts, it might not be as robust compared with other action movies of its time, there\u2019s at least some OK depth with each channel getting used between the score, ambient noises and numerous explosions through the finale.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Agent Cody Banks<\/em><\/strong> is hardly a good movie and probably on par with a Disney Original Movie, yet there\u2019s some minor entertainment value and I at least did manage to chuckle a few times (more than I did with Zoolander 2<\/em>) though the target audience is geared more toward the 12-16 range. The Blu-ray released by Olive offers good video\/audio transfers and an OK selection of extras though it\u2019s missing the commentary that was on the DVD…<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
