PLOT SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

When a fracking mishap accidentally rips apart the earth\u2019s crust, the resulting hole opens up a gaping underground waterway leading to a vast and mysterious subterranean ocean somewhere deep below. Instantly, giant prehistoric sharks begin wending their way upward toward a murky bog in the heart of the Arkansas bayou. Unfortunately for a group of female prisoners on a work detail in the swamp, the deadly sharks attack without warning \u2013 pinning a hapless group of potential victims in a small deserted cabin in the heart of the wetlands. For these wayward women, death may be the only means of escape.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Shout, released through their Scream Factory line, presents Sharkansas Women\u2019s Prison Massacre<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray shown with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio. It\u2019s not exactly a great looking 1080p high-definition transfer as it has that all-telling DTV glossy look where skin tones are waxy in texture but at least it\u2019s clean looking…<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is serviceable enough with clean sounding dialogue levels but it is on the limited side for the \u201caction\u201d-centric sequences while ambient noises are vastly limited. It\u2019s not the most robust sounding lossless track, even by DTV standards, but works well enough for the type of movie this is.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Sharkansas Women\u2019s Prison Massacre<\/em><\/strong> is the latest movie attempting to take advantage of the Sharknado<\/em> craze and while I guess some might find some fun out of it, I never found it funny and was a chore to even sit through. The Blu-ray released through Shout Factory is limited on the features while the video and audio transfers were, at best, average.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
