PLOT SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Marjorie Turner (KIRSTIE ALLEY) is the dissatisfied wife of Harry Turner (SCOTT BAKULA), a workaholic doctor more invested in medical charts than his beautiful wife. Encouraged by her sister (JAMI GERTZ) that an affair might be just the thing to break the monotony, a clandestine tryst with a handsome stranger (SAM ELLIOTT) ends on a low note when he dies from a heart attack.<\/p>\n

The twists and turns are just beginning when hotel guest Nicholas Meany (BILL PULLMAN) who thinks that he may have accidentally killed said stranger looks to Marjorie for help after finding her driver\u2019s license at the scene of the crime.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Sibling Rivalry<\/em><\/strong> arrives on Blu-ray presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec). Although this primarily does look good with nice detail, the colors are a bit heavy at times and appear oversaturated. I don\u2019t know if that\u2019s how it was filmed, though that\u2019s where I\u2019m leaning, or with the transfer but it\u2019s not the prettiest looking transfer I\u2019ve seen. There were also some minor instances of dust marks but nothing overly distracting so it\u2019s a fine transfer with its flaws.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes with a standard but still well done DTS-HD Master Audio Stereo track which, for a crime-comedy, is more than adequate with crisp and clear dialogue levels throughout with the score giving a slight extra boost and depth. It\u2019s nothing extraordinary but still above average for a niche movie going on 25+ years…<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Sibling Rivalry<\/em><\/strong> is a quirky fun, if not also forgettable, 1990s comedy with a semi-impressive cast of who\u2019s who of that era. While the plot doesn\u2019t work and performances that aren\u2019t always the best, it\u2019s still one of those watchable flicks that you probably won\u2019t regret afterward yet have little interest in re-visiting anytime soon. The Blu-ray released through Olive Films, the special features are basically non-existent while the video and audio transfers are sufficient enough.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
