Will Ferrell, albeit hardly a guarantee for laughs, is talented with comedy and Mark Wahlberg has proven to have comedic chops as seen in <em>Ted<\/em> and <em>The Happening<\/em>, put these two, who are oil and water, and what do we get? A half baked script with few laughs and cringe-worthy product placement. I\u2019d say the best parts of the movie, the few anyway, involved Thomas Haden Church while everyone else, including Cardellini playing Ferrell\u2019s wife, were annoying; why is it <em>she<\/em> didn\u2019t take care of her ex (i.e. sending him packing?). Then you get to a forced happy ending (a dance-off) which doesn\u2019t work and had more eye-rolls than laughs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/UcSQxY6.png\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"Daddy's Home\" src=\"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/UcSQxY6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Co-scripted and directed by Sean Anders (<em>Horrible Bosses 2<\/em>, <em>That\u2019s My Boy<\/em>), <strong><em>Daddy\u2019s Home<\/em><\/strong> is not what I would call a \u201cterrible\u201d film as I did manage to laugh a few times but it\u2019s one of Ferrell\u2019s weaker, and even lazier, comedy vehicles that I guess his super-fans will enjoy, but it won\u2019t be remembered a year from now.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"features\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SPECIAL FEATURES \u2013 3.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This release comes with a semi-glossy <strong>slip cover<\/strong>. The video detail is fairly sharp throughout and given this is a comedy colors are generally bright and cheerful.
