THE MOVIE<\/strong>

After a blatant terrorist attack on the Pentagon and the resulting new war on terror, private military contractor Kyle Norris (TOM SIZEMORE) facilitates the development of a bio-mechanical weapon program by Professor Clarence Peterson (MICKEY ROURKE). The program allows soldiers to swap consciousness with a target, giving them temporary yet complete control. While the program was intended to combat terrorists and safeguard American soldiers, the program has been abused.<\/p>\n

When Detective Walker (JOHNNY MESSNER) unwittingly stumbles upon the program, he must fight not only to shut it down, but protect his young family from those who will stop at nothing to keep the gram moving forward.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Cinedigm unleashes Weaponized<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented with a 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture actually isn\u2019t too bad with sharp detail throughout and although colors aren\u2019t exactly bright, it\u2019s probably in keeping with the modern Western setting.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes with an adequate if not unimpressive DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. While dialogue levels were fine, the other parts, like gunplay and other action-centric elements, were downplayed and showed little to no depth.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Weaponized<\/em><\/strong> is the latest gem from filmmaker Timothy Woodward Jr. who seems to churn out 2-3 movies a year with the usual suspects, with return appearances of Tom Sizemore, Johnny Messner, Danny Trejo and Michael Par\u00e9. I guess technically it\u2019s \u201cbetter\u201d than his previous movies but that really isn\u2019t saying a whole lot; the performances are stilted with a bad, half-baked, screenplay.<\/p>\n

The Blu-ray released through Cinedigm offers good video, average (at best) audio and a limited selection of bonus features.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
