Can speechwriters on opposite sides of the political fence find love and happiness in the heat of an election season? Speechless<\/em><\/strong> focuses on Kevin Vallick (MICHAEL KEATON) and Julia Mann (GEENA DAVIS) \u2013 Republican and Democratic speechwriters respectively \u2013 who find instant attraction and soon romance blooms between the pair as their respective candidates duke it out in a close Senatorial race. Add to the mix, Kevin\u2019s ex-wife (BONNIE BEDOLIA) and Julia\u2019s self-absorbed former fianc\u00e9 (CHRISTOPHER REEVE) and the stage is set.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Olive Films releases Speechless<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented with a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec) and shown in its original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio. For the most part his a fine-looking transfer showing off good colors throughout and detail is generally speaking sharp and well defined.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes with a basic but decent DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track providing nice and clear dialogue levels to go along with some so-so depth with the score\/soundtrack. It might not be a masterpiece of a lossless track but considering it is a romantic-comedy, it\u2019s more than sufficient for a movie such as this.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Speechless<\/em><\/strong> has a nice spin on the classic romantic comedy formula (opposites attract and all that) and Michael Keaton and Gena Davis share some nice chemistry and as a bonus for geeks, we do get to see Keaton and Christopher Reeve share a scene. The Blu-ray released through Olive Films is pretty basic with only a trailer and OK video and audio transfers.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
