Plot Synopsis (from back cover): <\/strong>Lt. Frank Drebin (LESLIE NIELSON) loves a mytery. Why are we here? Is there life after sex? Yes, Drebin tackles the big issues \u2013 and the biggest of all is how to stop devious Quentin Hapsburg\u2019s (ROBERT GOULET) plan to destroy the environment, kidnapping a scientist (RICHARD GRIFFITHS) whose key recommendation could spell trouble for the oil, coal and nuclear industries.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: Naked Gun 2\u00bd: The Smell of Fear<\/em><\/strong> is a step down from the first movie yet there\u2019s just enough to make it at least a serviceable sequel with some nice laughs consistently sprinkled through the short 80-minute running time. Leslie Nielson, with the writing of Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker, really makes the film all the worthwhile watching.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Warner Home Video releases The Naked Gun 2\u00bd<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray shown with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. As with the original Blu-ray release, it\u2019s not an entirely pretty looking picture with only so-so detail particularly on close-up shots but there\u2019s a fair amount of grain and noise that permeates the transfer. There are also were the occasional, albeit minor, instances of dust marks and scratches.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

AUDIO \u2013 3.75\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The movie comes with a nice if not effective DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. The dialogue levels do sound good throughout but the track does take off thanks to a robust score and choice music to punctuate the comedic moments. By no means is it a great track but it does get the job done and considering the film\u2019s age, and the fact it is a comedy, it\u2019s still impressive enough.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Naked Gun 2\u00bd<\/em><\/strong> isn\u2019t as good as the first but Nielson is still a lot of fun to watch and the jokes at least are more consistently spread out compared with Naked Gun 33 1\/3<\/em>. The Blu-ray released by Warner doesn\u2019t have much to offer; the video and audio are adequate but there were no bonus features included.<\/p>\n
