PLOT SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Molly Hartley (SARA LIND) is all grown up, but the unholy demon inside her lives on. Six years after graduating high school \u2014 and discovering that a secret pact assigned her soul to the devil \u2014 Molly is suspected of murder and confined to a mental hospital, where she wreaks supernatural havoc on the staff, including therapist Dr. Laurie Hawthorne (GINA HOLDEN), and patients. Her only hope is an exorcism by a defrocked priest (DEVON SAWA) looking to redeem himself and save Molly\u2019s life before her hideous \u201ctransformation\u201d is complete, but Satan has other plans.<\/p>\n

Exorcism: Beyond One Truth (18:24; HD)<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 This featurette looks at the decline in faith in the world and the idea of evil and some such. It\u2019s more of a theological feature with some scenes from the film thrown in.<\/p>\n

Clovesdale Institute: Classified Security Camera Footage (4:04; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a selection of \u201creal\u201d security footage, unedited, that was used in the film; really nothing of note or worthwhile.<\/p>\n

Director Diaries (4:41; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a collection of four featurettes covering Makeup FX<\/strong>, The Exorcism<\/strong>, The Black Church<\/strong> and The Facility<\/strong>. These are far too short to be of much value.<\/p>\n

Fox unleashes The Exorcism of Molly Hartley<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray shown with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio, perfect for what it airs on FX or SyFy, and presented in 1080p high-definition. The picture quality actually isn\u2019t half bad, better than I thought it would, providing sharp detail throughout and colors, as intended, were more muted and moved more towards darker tones. It\u2019s clean, free of aliasing, artifacts and other flaws. The only drawback is, it does have that digital, made-for-TV look so it\u2019s not exactly brilliant but good enough.

AUDIO \u2013 4.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The included DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track isn\u2019t half bad. If there\u2019s any horror movie that would take advantage of a lossless track, it\u2019s the exorcism sub-genre where blood-curdling, demonic screams can be heard combined with the various jump scares. The generic score makes good use of the rear channels.<\/p>\n
