PLOT SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Jefferson Reed (ROBERT TOWNSEND) is a shy and retiring schoolteacher who gains mysterious super powers when he\u2019s struck by a meteor fragment, uses those powers to help his neighborhood combat gang crime. Jefferson\u2019s courage will be tested as his super powers diminish and he must decide when true strength really lies.<\/p>\n

Olive Films releases The Meteor Man<\/em><\/strong> shown in its original theatrical 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture quality is fair enough with decent detail though there is some minor grain and I did notice some instances of scratches and dirt marks, so although not perfect, it\u2019s a fine transfer.

AUDIO \u2013 3.5\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The disc comes with the usual, for Olive Films, DTS-HD MA 2.0 track which is serviceable but nothing remarkable. The dialogue sounded clear enough but where the track falters is with the depth and the more action-oriented scenes. There was some minor hissing in a few instances but for the most part it\u2019s an OK lossless track.<\/p>\n

OVERALL \u2013 2.5\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Overall, The Meteor Man<\/em><\/strong> is hardly a good movie but it has its charms and I can see why it has somewhat of a following of late. It\u2019s a Robert Townsend pet project but I think it would\u2019ve serviced the movie more if he decided to not also star. As it is, I suppose its passable entertainment but nothing more. The Blu-ray released by Olive Films is basic with only the trailer and so-so video and audio transfers.<\/p>\n
