\"\"<\/a>The final season of \u201cNurse Jackie\u201d<\/strong> culminates a solid series for Showtime and allows for Edie Falco to carry the show and remind just how strong of an actress she is dating back to \u201cThe Sopranos\u201d. The show itself has never been a favorite of mine or anything but it\u2019s entertaining enough. The Blu-ray released by Lionsgate is fine and includes excellent video and audio transfers and a adequate selection of bonus material.<\/p>\n

THE SEASON<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Synopsis:
\n<\/strong>Jackie Peyton (EDIE FALCO), at the end of season six, has hit rock bottom. Caught with an s-load of prescription medication after an auto accident, Jackie is busted and thrown in jail. She\u2019s out of a job turning down an ultimatum for treatment while her relationship with her kids has also deteriorated thanks to her addiction. The seventh season also continues side stories with the supporting characters from Coop\u2019s (PETER FACINELLI) relationship with Carrie (BETTY GILPIN) and possibly moving in together as she\u2019s pregnant with his child, though there\u2019s trouble in paradise and Coop makes a big decision; and Zoey (MERRITT WEVER) plays an instrumental role in helping Jackie in her personal and professional problems.<\/p>\n

    Quick Hit Review:
    \n<\/strong>I have to admit, I\u2019m not much for dark comedies, with some exceptions, and generally avoid medical dramas so the combination of the two for \u201cNurse Jackie\u201d<\/strong> never appealed to me in spite of the show\u2019s success and the award accolades\/nominations star Edie Falco received (however, she is 0\/4 for the Golden Globe). All that said, the series is well acted with some compelling storylines and this seventh season moves each forward fairly well giving the main character a bigger challenge than ever before.<\/p>\n
