THE MOVIE<\/strong> \u2013 4.5\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Season Synopsis (from back cover): <\/strong>Alicia Florrick (JULIANNA MARGULIES) stood by her husband (CHRIS NOTH) on his tumultuous path to the governor\u2019s office, but now she\u2019s entering the world of politics on her own terms by running for state\u2019s attorney. As Election Day approaches, Alicia must balance the demands of her firm and campaign as she supports her partner Cary (MATT CZUCHRY) when he is arrested in connection with a heroin smuggling ring perpetrated by his client, Dylan Bishop. Making matters more complicated is the case is being prosecuted by Alicia\u2019s old friend, Finn Polmar (MATTHEW GOODE). All through this process, Alicia\u2019s firm plans expansion with the inclusion of Diane Lockhart (CHRISTINE BARANSKI) and the wealthy cliental she brings with her.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: \u201cThe Good Wife\u201d<\/strong> has never been high priority viewing for me as I tend to lean more towards crime procedurals like \u201cCSI\u201d, \u201cNCIS\u201d and the like versus legal dramas which never have been my thing. However, watching the show for the past few seasons on DVD and it\u2019s easy to see why it has enjoyed great ratings and garnered a few awards over the years. It\u2019s a compelling drama that pulls the viewer in even to those who may not be familiar with the characters. This season is no different with plenty of dramatic plotlines to envelope the entire season from Cary who seems to be taking the place of Josh Charles\u2019 Will Gardner who left in the fifth season. It\u2019s an interesting case to be sure but not to be content, you add in an election race for Alicia and some interesting conflict with her estranged government husband and it\u2019s hard to predict the outcomes.<\/p>\n

Season six also features a nice array of guest appearances, many character actors, some returning from previous seasons including Michael J. Fox, David Hyde Pierce, Oliver Platt, Dylan Baker, Robert Sean Leonard, David Paymer, Rita Wilson, John Glover and Kurt Fuller.<\/p>\n

On a side note, season six sees the (unfortunate) departure of Archie Panjabi\u2019s Kalinda not only because she\u2019s an interesting character but she\u2019s amazing eye candy. Why this is noteworthy isn\u2019t just because a main actress is leaving but the how as apparently the relationship between Panjabi and Margulies had deteriorated beyond repair.<\/p>\n

    Matching the previous season sets, the 6-discs are housed in a standard DVD case which side-slides into a matted slip cover<\/strong>. The artwork itself is a bit of a departure going with a different graphic design compared with the others.<\/p>\n

    Follow the Leader: Inside the Season Finale (25:44)<\/u><\/strong> breaks down the last episode and implications for the characters, writing the episode and other info. It offers behind-the-scenes footage intertwined with interviews by the cast and crew.<\/p>\n

    The Temptation of Alicia Florrick: \u201cThe Good Wife\u201d Season Six (23:21)<\/u><\/strong> covers the evolution of the main character through the sixth season.<\/p>\n

    The Esteemed Women of Sunday Night: Julianne Margulies (2:08)<\/u><\/strong> and Christine Baranski (2:09)<\/u><\/strong> are profiles on both actresses and their respective characters.<\/p>\n

    Deleted Scenes (1:38:11)<\/u><\/strong> are available for all 22 episodes and while nice to watch and all, nothing really noteworthy and in all likelihood were cut down due to time issues.<\/p>\n

    Each episode includes a standard Dolby Digital 5.1 track (and stereo as well) which allows dialogue levels to sound clear while the other channels are reserved for the soft score and occasional ambient noises.<\/p>\n
