THE SEASON<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Season Overview (from back cover): <\/strong>Are you a Jake fan? Great! Because Season 5 has a ridiculous amount of momentous Jake moments! Like when he became Jake the dead. That time he tracked down Jake Jr.\u2019s kidnapper (sort of). Who can forget the masterpiece that is his most delicious sandwich?! And he shares these moments with his best bro Finn and friends.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: \u201cAdventure Time with Jake and Finn\u201d<\/strong> is certainly one of the most unusual yet creative animated series not only currently airing but perhaps of all time. It also has a broad appeal from young viewers who will be amazed by the various characters to adults. At first the show wasn\u2019t my cup of tea but over the course of now five seasons, it has grown on me and I love the different characters and the fact each episode is briskly paced clocking in at around 11-minutes. Over the course of the 52 episodes in this fifth season, there are some really clever and amusing stories (for instance \u2018All the Little People\u2019, a fun take on The Sims game).<\/p>\n

SPECIAL FEATURES \u2013 2.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As with the previous season sets, this one comes with a matted slip cover<\/strong> with a slit cut out on the front revealing one of the major characters. Inside is an episode pamphlet and a slip with the redemption code for the Digital Copy<\/u><\/strong>. Unfortunately no commentaries were included.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdventure Time\u201d Forever (15:33; HD)<\/u><\/strong> is a set of interviews with crew members and voice actors about the origins and its long-lasting impact on the viewers.<\/p>\n

Animatic Clips (44:57; HD)<\/u><\/strong> are available on both discs for all the episodes.<\/p>\n

VIDEO \u2013 4.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u201cAdventure Time\u201d<\/strong> arrives on Blu-ray presented in its originally televised 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec). Like the previous seasons, this offers bright colors and decent-to-good detail though you can definitely see the crude animation in certain shots. Still, it appears to be clean, free of aliasing or banding making for a good-looking transfer.

AUDIO \u2013 3.5\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Each episode has a standard Dolby Digital Stereo track which is serviceable but nothing great providing for clear dialogue, whiles other parts, like the soundtrack, is pretty flat with only moderate range. Though a lossless track would\u2019ve been nice, it\u2019s not a necessity for a program like this.<\/p>\n
