NCIS: The Nineteenth Season DVD Review

NCIS: The Nineteenth Season comes to DVD from Paramount/CBS on August 16th and features a couple new characters alongside veterans including Mark Harmon, Sean Murray, Katrina Law and Gary Cole.

NCIS: New Orleans: The Fifth Season DVD Review

Having watched Quantum Leap growing up, I’m a fan of Scott Bakula where he was pretty goof in the much maligned Enterprise series, but now five seasons in, with a few exceptions, NCIS: New Orleans really is need of some fresh blood within the writers’ room or something.

NCIS: The Fifteenth Season DVD Review

NCIS: Season 15 is hardly the best in the long-running series nor the best written, but I still generally enjoyed the season and Maria Bello seems like a nice addition, though hopefully she’ll stick around beyond a couple of years.

NCIS: The Fourteenth Season DVD

NCIS: The Fourteenth Season does take a bit of a step back following Weatherly’s departure but the charm is still there and the newcomers weren’t bad, although Jennifer Esposito is a one-and-done as she left and her absence will likely be resolved with a single sentence.

Review: NCIS – The Thirteenth Season DVD

NCIS: The Thirteenth Season is another solid year for the venerable series and while not all 24 episodes were top level, more than enough were to make this one of strong years, however the departure of Weatherly’s DiNozzo will test the writers and cast as he is a hard actor and character to replace.

Review: NCIS: New Orleans – The Second Season DVD

NCIS: New Orleans is hardly a great show and a shell of a series compared with NCIS or even NCIS: Los Angeles, however it is at least fluff entertainment and with Scott Bakula at the helm, enjoyable enough even if the stories aren’t entirely memorable.

Review: NCIS: The Twelfth Season BD + Screen Caps

“NCIS”: The Twelfth Season is another solid year for the venerable series that excels mostly to the ensemble cast which, for the most part, has been together since the beginning. The stories also remain compelling with new and different obstacles for the team including a deadly antagonist to start the season out with a bang.

Review: NCIS: New Orleans: The First Season DVD

“NCIS: New Orleans” is I’d say passable entertainment and an OK start for its first season thanks in part with some satisfactory storylines and story arcs to go along with the charisma Scott Bakula still possesses even in the much maligned “Enterprise.” This 6-disc DVD set is well done with some decent enough bonus features and good video/audio transfers.

Review: “NCIS”: The Eleventh Season DVD

Eleven seasons in and “NCIS” is still going strong, being able to do the same old, same old and yet switch things up with multi-arc episodes as well as giving its characters, even if little by little, development. The only drawback is the production values seem to be limited but I can overlook it for solid storytelling and, of course, the chemistry between the core cast.

NCIS: Los Angeles: The Complete Fourth Season DVD Review

“NCIS: Los Angeles” is what I would call diversionary programming. It’s not terribly creative, outside of an episode or two, but the cast holds it together with wonderful chemistry.

Review: NCIS LA: The Third Season DVD

“NCIS: LA” is one of the few spin-offs that actually works. It’s far enough removed from the mothership and yet shares the same type of chemistry that takes the show away from crime-of-the-week to something a bit more meaningful. The third season DVD has some good storylines going for it, allowing for each character to get some screen time and more background.

Review: “NCIS” The Ninth Season DVD

The ninth season of “NCIS” is one hell of a ride. As in previous seasons, the cast works so well together and the chemistry and dynamic is why the show has been as successful as had been the past couple of years. The storylines are getting richer including a multi-part finale which is fantastic.
