SPECIAL FEATURES – 2.5/5

Features-wise, each episode comes with a Commentary Track with various members of the cast and crew: Series Creator Pendleton Ward; Directors Cole Sanchez; Writers Andy Ristaino and Rebecca Sugar; Storyboard Artists Nate Cash and Jesse Moynihan; & Voice Actors Tom Herpich and Ako Castuera.
Also included is Distant Bands: The Music of “Adventure Time” (19:38; HD) looking at the score and music soundtrack featured on the show.
VIDEO – 4.25/5
“Adventure Time”: The Complete Fourth Season floats and flutters onto Blu-ray presented with a 1080p high-definition transfer and shown in its original 1.78 televised aspect ratio. Not surprisingly, colors are uber bright in keeping with the style and show no artifacting and only the occasional banding.
AUDIO – 3.5/5
Each episode has a standard Dolby Digital Stereo track which is serviceable but nothing great providing for clear dialogue, whiles other parts, like the soundtrack, is pretty flat with only moderate range. Though a lossless track would’ve been nice, it’s not a necessity for a program like this.
OVERALL – 4.0/5
Overall, “Adventure Time”: The Complete Fourth Season is yet another successful and incredibly funny addition the popular series that appeals to most age groups, though an older audience seems to have more appreciation for it thanks to great stories, characters and all around funny situations, as inane as they are (and that’s a compliment). The Blu-ray released by Warner Brothers is fairly average with solid video, OK audio and decent features headlined by commentaries on each of the 26 episodes.
