PLOT SYNOPSIS

When a set of mystical artifacts falls into the hands of a diabolical cult leader with plans for world domination, it’s up to the devil-may-care J.T. Striker (TONY ANTHONY) to reclaim them. Together with a ragtag team of mercenaries, Striker must battle terrifying natural—and supernatural—enemies within a fortress-like temple where the stakes may be nothing less than the balance between good and evil.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 2¼/5

This release comes with a matted slip cover and a pair of Anaglyphic 3-D glasses. Not a whole lot in terms of features but there is an Audio Commentary by Film Historian Jason Pichansky, an Audio Interview (44:24) with Star Tony Anthony conducted by Filmmaker Douglas Hosdale and the Theatrical Trailer (1:59).

VIDEO – 3½/5, AUDIO – 4/5

Kino Lorber releases Treasure of the Four Crowns onto Blu-ray where it’s presented in the original 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. There are a few options depending on your setup or tolerance level. For me, I no longer own a 3D Blu-ray player or TV so I could not watch using the BD3D Polorized version and the Red/Cyan 3D absolutely hurts my eyes with only a couple minutes of having them on. So this rating is for the 2D version and as such, it’s a fine transfer I suppose but some of the distant shots were a bit fuzzy while close-ups at least were halfway decent.

The movie comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo and 5.1 track. For the most part both of these are pretty impressive; dialogue comes through with fine clarity and really didn’t detect any obvious pops, hisses or other ailments. There’s also some decent depth for the 5.1 option though nothing overly powerful.
